West Saltdean Forum and neighbourhood plan
In 2022 Brighton Planning were contacted by a local Councillor who wanted to explore the possibility of establishing a Neighbourhood Plan to help assist in protecting the local heritage and buildings.
Brighton Planning have helped in setting up a designated Neighbourhood Forum and neighbourhood plan area and are currently working with the Forum to bring forward the evidence needed to help shape the development of the planning policies. This included an initial survey of the local community which scoped out the main issues the plan will need to address.
Working groups have been established and development of design codes and housing needs assessment are underway.
Brighton Planning is helping the Forum to identify open spaces that may need protecting and engaging the local community on the neighbourhood plan journey.
