Helping communities in sussex, surrey and kent
For any planning development to be successful, it needs support from the surrounding community. Brighton Planning can support and upskill communities to develop their own set of tools to work in partnership with developers, and likewise we can assist developers and Councils to host events that engage with local people. Brighton Planning can advise on the best methods of relationship building to achieve early partnership working with successful scheme progression.

Community consultation events and workshops
Brighton Planning design and undertake a range of bespoke community engagement events to best suit the clients needs and gain as much support as possible. Events can vary from drop-in sessions to walk arounds and are aimed to provide the client with constructive feedback that can inform projects and designs.
Bespoke training for Councils and community groups
Brighton Planning work closely with town councils, local businesses and community groups to provide planning knowledge and additional skill capacity. We can do this in a range of ways, from providing bespoke training modules for councillors, council staff and local groups to one-off advice sessions on specific projects.
Preparation of local community planning tools
There are a range of planning tools that help communities shape their local areas. These can range from informal local advice to developing a statutory neighbourhood plan which is formally taken into consideration when planning decisions are made by the local council. Planning tools help provide a better quality of design and provide guidance as to how future development within the area should be undertaken. Brighton Planning will help determine which tools benefit your community need and how these can be achieved.
