say hello!
Nancy Astley BA(Hons) DipTP MRTPI
Director
Hello all,
I’ve 25 years town planning experience of which over 20 years have been as a chartered town planner, adhering to the Royal Town Planning Institute’s professional codes of practice. I started my early career within local authority and have worked across all sectors including the charity sector where I specialized in community engagement for inner city regeneration schemes in London. My planning career has enabled me to follow many pathways and experiences, from household and commercial development schemes to training and teaching. The truth is I, think planning is amazing, and getting the right schemes off the ground allows me to play my part in developing local sustainable communities.
I love the recent advancements in technology and innovation in planning and the use of CGI and 3D modelling is transforming the way we can view our future surroundings and seek to guide better design and quality for all.
Outside of work and family, I love art, antiques and music, nothing better than a Sunday morning hunt at an antiques or record fair, I can be lost for hours.
Liz Harvey BA(Hons), AATQB
Finance Director
With my qualifications in accounting and business development, along with 15 years working in finance. I co-founded Brighton Planning 5 years ago and my job is to provide the business support and manage company progression.
Having successfully commenced our business, I am now able to develop my own interests in environmental side of planning. Going forward I will be making sure our company embarks on providing ecological services and supporting suggestions on carbon friendly ways in planning.
My leisure time is reading, floristry and textiles. I love re-purposing old home cushions into newly created large garden cushions, to sit on and enjoy a large glass of wine in summer months.
Helen Love
Planning Technician
I have worked in local government for almost 44 years for the same local council, 40 of those within the Planning Department. I started in the drawing office, them moved into planning policy and for the last 24 years have been a planning technician. I deal mostly with householder extensions, lawful development proposals with a few listed building applications thrown in for good measure.
I do enjoy helping agents and applicants with navigating the planning process and pointing them in the right direction towards an approval.
I have to say I really enjoy permitted development and picking my way through the legislation.
Both my husband and I are part retired and the children all grown up so now we have time to visit our beloved Looe, Cornwall. We also enjoy a city break, I love books shops, we both enjoy looking around cathedrals. We are also very keen supporters of our local football team Merstham FC and enjoy meeting our friends there and visiting other towns for the away matches.
